How to get to our place?

BY CAR : on the Pau-Zaragoza axis, 35 km from Pau (France) and 80 km from Jaca (Aragon – Spain).

We have an electric vehicle charging station available.

BY TRAIN : Oloron Sainte-Marie train station is 1.4 km from our location: TER train schedules from Pau. Pau is served by the TGV high-speed train.

BY BIKE : We are certified " "Accueil Vélo" on the route of the Pyrenean passes (Soudet, Marie-Blanque, Aubisque passes, etc.).

ON FOOT : we are directly on the paths of Saint James of Compostela GR653 (Arles Way) and GR78 (Piedmont Way).

What labels for L'Amphitryon?

An official label is an assurance of quality for accommodation and associated services.

Obtaining a label is based on the accommodation receiving it complying with a precise set of specifications defined and controlled by the accreditation body.

3 Gîtes de France stars

Gîtes de France is a network, brand, and label for bed and breakfast accommodations in France and Europe , created in 1955. The Gîtes de France® quality accreditationguarantees precise comfort standards and compliance with a national charter.

L'Amphitryon has received the 3 EPIS accreditation.

This classification ensures that our guests will have at their disposal, in our characterful residence located in a listed medieval quarter of Oloron Sainte-Marie, rooms of great comfort , equipped with complete private bathrooms (with hairdryer available) integrated into the room, with careful and quality decoration .

European EcoLabel

The European Ecolabel is an official certification issued by AFNOR , recognized throughout Europe, which guarantees environmentally friendly practices .

This label, awarded to Amphitryon in 2024, recognizes the organization of our guest house which:

• Reduces its environmental impact across all of its activities.

• Promotes the use of local and sustainable products .

• It limits energy and water consumption and waste production.

For our guests, this certification is a guarantee of quality and sustainability, confirming that staying at L'Amphitryon is also making a choice for more responsible tourism.

This label commits us to implementing the Environmental Policy that we have put in place.

Bike Welcome Label

Accueil Vélo is a national brand of France Vélo Tourisme,A non-profit organization whose objective is to develop cycling tourism in France. This label guarantees quality service and a warm welcome along cycling routes.

The label Bike Welcome In particular, this means that our cycling guests are guaranteed suitable equipment at the Amphitryon (secure bike shelter, repair kit) and a warm welcome with practical information, advice, routes, weather, etc.

What amenities do we offer our guests on business trips?

High-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the building.

Each room has a desk.

A quiet and bright workspace, separate from the bedrooms, equipped with two large desks is available for our guests wishing to work comfortably.

What equipment is available for relaxation and well-being?

Inside, you can enjoy the reception lounge with a courtesy tray, music and a board game area.

Relaxation Areas:

Tables, chairs, and deckchairs are available in different areas of the terraced garden.

Fitness Area:

Our small fitness room, a friendly space overlooking the wooded garden, is the ideal place to take care of yourself or even to train in peace and quiet.

Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation:

Enjoy the calm and serene atmosphere of the house to discover and learn about Mindfulness Meditation! Marie-Pierre, a Mindfulness Practitioner accredited by E. Lorato at the School of Presence in Lyon, will guide this session to raise your awareness of the benefits of mindfulness.

What equipment do I need for my baby?

A cot and a high chair are available upon request at the time of booking.

What languages are spoken at the Amphitryon?

We speak English, Spanish and a few words of Italian to make your stay easier.

Is there a library/record library?

A selection of books is available in each room.

Our record collection is available for listening in the living room in front of the fireplace.

Is the establishment accessible to people with disabilities?

L'Amphitryon is an 18th century house that has retained all its original charm, including an old wooden staircase leading to the bedrooms.

Access is therefore unsuitable for people with reduced mobility .

L'Amphitryon was not granted an exemption regarding motor disability.

What are the arrival and departure times?

Arrival :

Check-in is between 6pm and 8pm . If you plan to arrive outside of these hours, please contact us at 05 59 39 78 50 or 06 95 38 02 65. The house is equipped with a digital entry system: the access code will be provided upon your arrival, ensuring complete independence.

Departure :

On the day of your departure, please vacate the room by 10am.

Annual closure

We do not accept guests during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Payment methods

The balance of your stay is due on the day of departure.

We accept payments in cash , bank cards , holiday vouchers , and checks. (with ID for amounts over €100).

An invoice will be sent by email.

How do I park my bicycle, my motorcycle, my car?

• Car parking : Parking available on Place Saint-Pierre, a public car park in front of L'Amphitryon.

• Bicycle storage : A secure, enclosed area for bicycles is available.

• Motorcycle parking : Motorcycles can be parked in the driveway of the enclosed garden in front of the house.

How do I charge my electric vehicle?

The Amphitryon has an electric vehicle charging station. Other charging stations are accessible within a 3 km radius of Oloron-Sainte-Marie.

Where to have dinner in Oloron Sainte-Marie?

Restaurants are within walking distance of the Amphitryon. We are happy to advise you based on your current preferences.

Can I bring my pet?

Pets are not allowed at the Amphitryon.

What actions are being taken to reduce the ecological footprint?

We are EU Ecolabel certified.

This certification is the result of a collective effort , carried out with passion and conviction, to integrate environmentally friendly practices into every aspect of our guesthouse. Our initiatives include:

What Environmental Policy is being implemented?

Our Environmental Policy , which we will continue to implement, is the cornerstone of the European EcoLabel.

What amenities and services are included in the rooms?

• Breakfast: included and served from 7am to 9am.

• Wi-Fi access : The Wi-Fi code is provided in your room. Illegal downloading is prohibited.

• Room amenities : Television (French channels and TNT), water, coffee/tea machine (at your discretion), mini-library, mosquito repellent device, minibar with cold drinks.

• Linen and respect for the environment : We limit the waste of bed linen and towels, as part of our eco-responsible approach in accordance with the standards of the European Ecolabel.

• Room cleaning: every day during the stay.

• Outdoor spaces : Enjoy the garden and outdoor lounges to relax.

• Local information : Brochures and maps are available in the lounge. We will be happy to advise you.
