• Our history

The project of investing in a guest house activity germinated more than twenty-five years ago following numerous exchanges and discussions during our visits as hosts. Life, our children, professional changes, numerous geographical locations have put it behind priorities for years.

Today, our rich and diverse professional careers are nearing the end. Also, we have chosen to relaunch this project in 2021 with the takeover of this house, L'Amphitryon, a ""favorite"" in Oloron Sainte-Marie, capital of Haut-Béarn.

A drastic change of universe! New region, new life closer to nature and the mountains, new areas and context of activity. In short, everything to relearn!

And here we are, off to a new adventure!

• Our objectives and commitments

The building which houses our guest house has survived the centuries in an area of the Pyrenees, Haut-Béarn, very attached to its heritage and its environment.

The renovation work carried out since the takeover of the establishment has contributed to our objective of doing everything possible to make our guests feel good in our house:

- Enhance , through refined decoration, the character of this old presbytery with its tranquility, its stones, its old woodwork, its garden,

- Favor human contact , kindness through our open-mindedness and our ability to adapt,

- Facilitate exchanges even with our foreign guests through our language practice,

- Ensure optimal comfort and anticipate the answers to all the little daily questions of guests on vacation or on business trips (workspace),

- Ensure impeccable cleanliness of the rooms,

- Provide personalized advice on the best way to discover the city and the region. We ourselves are also traveling the region and we are capitalizing on our discoveries to share them,

- Offer local, quality products , particularly for breakfasts.

In order to perpetuate the history of this house, we are keen to ensure that the achievement of all of these objectives is part of an eco-responsible approach which takes into account the collective impact of our activity on the natural, economic and social environment of the territory.

Beyond comfort:

- A serene atmosphere that emanates from this 18th century house,

- An assertive character of the living room and each bedroom (exposed stone, woodwork, fireplace),

- A central position for discovering Béarn: at the junction of the valleys of Aspe, Ossau, and Barétous, Oloron Sainte Sainte-Marie is the historic capital of Haut-Béarn,

- A house located in town , in the medieval district on a listed square , peaceful and colorful, and with a large private garden equipped with relaxation lounges,

- An initiation, for people who wish, to Mindfulness Meditation ,

- A work space independent of the rooms available to our guests on business trips.

- The desire to establish and maintain an Environmental Policy structured on the requirements of the European Ecolabel .
